Programme Aim
MCW offers 24 weekends (only Saturday) intensive preparatory foundation course, 24 weeks divided into three terms (12 weeks in the first term, 12 weeks in the second term). For the certificate, diploma and BA (Hons) Degree programmes in biblical studies (Download Brochure for further details). The certificate, diploma and the undergraduate programmes of studies are full-time courses that run on-site at MCW. The purpose of the foundation programme is to offer students experiential knowledge of the Bible and to prepare them for a higher programme of study.
The course is custom-made for new converts and those who wish to deepen their understanding of biblical studies. The programme runs for 24 weekends (only Saturdays). Tutor/student contact hour per week is 4 (This includes student independent learning).
Entry Requirements

Standard academic background with successful completion of high school or equivalent.

A genuine desire for biblical knowledge and ministerial leadership.

Proficiency in English language for academic study.
Programme Content
THE FIRST 12 WEEKS

The Bible and its relevance in the twenty first century.

God’s creation and the origin of mankind.

The study of the Book of Genesis and central themes.

Primeval History (from Adam to Abraham)

Patriarchal History (Abraham,Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and their Families).

Hamartiology – the study of the nature and effects of sin

The Seed of the Woman

The Scarlet Thread of Redemption.

The Law and Grace.

Soteriology – the study of salvation through Christ.
THE NEXT 12 WEEKS

Cardinal gifts (eternal life, righteousness and the gift of the

Holy Spirit) and their relevance to the believer.

Ministry gifts/Soteriology and fruit of the Spirit.

Justification.
-
Sanctification.
-
Baptisms.
-
Discipleship.

Evangelism.

Pastoral ministry.

Kingdom Principles (Jesus’ teachings about the Kingdom of God - The Sermon on the Mount and the parables of Jesus regarding the Kingdom)

Homiletics (the art/method of presenting/preaching God’s Word in the most effective way.
Assessment
The assessment for the Foundation Programme will be entirely based on coursework (assignments) related to topics covered in the programme. These assignments will involve applying knowledge and interpretive skills to help understand biblical truths. The grading criteria will be organised as follows: Distinction, Merit, Pass, and Referral (refer to the grading descriptor in the students handbook).
ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE HONOURS DEGREE PROGRAMME
The assessment for the Foundation Programme will be entirely based on coursework (assignments) related to topics covered in the programme. These assignments will involve applying knowledge and interpretive skills to help understand biblical truths.
